There are numerous ways to earn passive income. For example, you can invest in real estate, purchase some high-yielding stocks, or buy bonds. Those options require a significant up-front investment, though. That’s especially true if you want to earn a decent income. If you don’t have a whole lot of cash to throw around and you’re willing to invest some time, then one of the best ways that you can earn passive income is with affiliate marketing. In this article, we’ll go over affiliate marketing and explain how you can generate some cash flow by selling products or services online. I’ve done affiliate marketing on some level for over 10 years. There is a lot to know.
Also, if you’re on a website that sells products that you think you could successfully promote online, scroll down to the footer of the home page and look for an affiliate link. It will usually read “Affiliate Opportunities” or words to that effect. Follow that link and be on your way to earning some passive income.
You’ll likely find some very unique niche opportunities on either one of those sites. That’s why it’s worth your while to join them. However, both MaxBounty and PeerFly have a reputation for rejecting new applicants. If that happens to you, just pick up the phone and call the company. Explain your marketing plan and why you should be approved. If you sound like you know what you’re talking about, they’ll probably approve you. Beyond those, there are still more affiliate marketing networks. Just Google “affiliate marketing network” and you’ll see plenty of options.
Also, eBay offers some generous commission rates. Even better: those rates are doubled during your first three months as an affiliate.
When your visitors click one of your links to a merchant’s site, that site will almost always place a cookie in the visitor’s browser. This is the important part: that cookie acts as evidence that the visitor arrived at the merchant site from one of your links. Then, if the visitor decides not to make a purchase at that time, but comes back later, the site will examine the cookie. If the user makes a purchase at that point, you will still get the commission. Basically what that means is this: if you just point somebody in the right direction towards a merchant site, and that person makes a purchase at some point in the future, you still get credit for the sale. How long does “the future” last? That varies from merchant to merchant. In the case of Amazon, the cookie only lasts for 24 hours. However, other merchants leave the cookie in place for weeks. Although that window of opportunity seems short in the case of Amazon, keep in mind that you get a commission for anything your visitors buy once you send them to the site. For example, somebody clicks on one of your links to buy hairspray on Amazon. She gets to Amazon but decides she doesn’t want to buy that hairspray after reading the description. She keeps shopping on Amazon for a better hairspray. She finds something she likes and buys it. You still get the commission. Let’s take it a step further: suppose that your visitor remembers that she needs a new laptop while she’s on Amazon. She searches around, finds exactly what she’s looking for, and purchases it. You guessed it. You get commission for that, too. You can earn a lot of money by just sending people to Amazon with your affiliate link. That’s something you should keep in mind as you develop your online strategy.Welcome to John Lincoln’s personal website.
